"Hi, life is fine, thank you."well well.. unless it's from a friend whom you din contact for a few years..else, i personally find it a kind but ambiguous yet insincere question, wad a bother.

Let's put it this way --
If he/she is a friend that worthed you sharing your life with him/her, you'd have done so without him/her asking.
Based on that, we can safely derive the conlusion that: If you do not hear from a person long enough, even after umpteen attempts, do not bother to be so thick-skinned to ask and ask again.
On the other hand, this is an insincere question if, and only if one is able to ask this question without any feelings.
Feelings are subjective, and that is why people will feel the insincerity -- Do you really care how my life is?

Ok seriously, i really dunno how to ans this kinda qn also. i think i've always ans with a 还好咯. Then i will purposely ask them back. Then see hwo they reply. Worse situation is after he/she reply, both parties never continue the conversation liao. Wahahhaha..so dun even bother to start if u havent really seen/talk tothe person for an era.
